About Cooper Mitchell Shipman-Cash Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
I would like to welcome you to the Cooper Mitchell Shipman-Cash Ancestors page. Linda Ione Malaussena is Cooper`s paternal grandmother. Our ancestors are an interesting and diversified group. We do have a scallywag and ruffian or two, which adds interest to our heritage. In each of our lines, one person was courageous enough to cross the ocean from Europe and make a new life in the United States.
A project like this cannot be done alone. Special thanks (in no particular order) go to Peggy Bennett, Sandra Fondon, Beverly Brunelle, Jane Covington, Francisco Parra, Cathy Stahl, Louise Rieke, Cyndi Rowell and Alberta Malaussena. The `Above and Beyond`award goes to Nancyanne Carkeek, a RAOGK (Random Acts of Genealogy Kindness) volunteer from New Jersey who diligently searched records and found much about the Barend ancestors. Nancyanne is hereby made an honorary member of our family.
All these people were kind and encouraging, and generously shared their own research. A special mention must go to Diane McClay who found the delightful tidbit about the Malaussena mailbox thief in a 1936 issue of the New York Times. (See Malaussena, Louis, b. 1920.) That same mailbox thief was killed during World War II while serving in the military.
This page is a work-in-progress. Please feel free to e-mail Linda with any comments, corrections or suggestions. Linda: dogandbirdlady@yahoo.com

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
